We are a family business with more than 40 years of combined experience in dog training, behavioral correction, breeding, rescue rehabilitation, daycare, and boarding. Our work is grounded in daily life with dogs, long-term study, and international professional certifications. We care about outcomes that extend far beyond training and into your daily life with your dog. Behavior and environment shape every part of a dog’s life, and meaningful progress comes from consistency and routine.
When a dog comes to RF Dogs, whether for training, daycare, or boarding, they become part of a family environment shaped by experience, routine, and care. Our spaces are clean and outdoors, with shaded turf play areas designed for safe and calm social interaction. We train dogs for the realities of home life, walks, visitors, and travel through structure and routine. We work with owners seeking to enjoy life with their dog and who are willing to commit to the training process.
Our Team
At RF Dogs, we are a team of four. We do not have a large or rotating staff. The dogs here spend their days with the same people who know them. Each one of us has extensive professional training and experience working with animals. Although we each bring something different to the team, we all share a deep passion what we do.
Ricardo Felgueres
Ricardo Felgueres is the founder and owner of RF Dogs. Ricardo began training his first dog at 18 years old. At 25, he got a German Shepherd, whose breeder encouraged him to show her. Over the next 15 years, Ricardo bred and trained German Shepherds with the support of top veterinarians, gaining rare access to medical and behavioral expertise at the highest level. Breeding became a defining experience in his career, one built on mentorship, science, and responsibility. Ricardo continues to learn every day through training that helps owners improve their relationships with their dogs. He is certified in professional dog training and behavioral correction, applying methods that prioritize clarity, consistency, structure, and respect.
Founder and Head Trainer
Emily Felgueres
Emily has spent all of her life around animals. She has competed and trained horses for years, and her background with horses has strongly influenced the way she works with dogs.
She has a deep love for all animals, but rescue and rehabilitation have always been particularly close to her heart.
At RF Dogs, Emily is involved in everything from the dogs’ daily care and training, to taking in rescues and finding them the right homes. Her approach is patient and intuitive, with an emphasis on understanding each animal as an individual.
Operations Manager
Amaia is a veterinary student with a deep love for animals. Amaia comes to spend time with the dogs even when she is not working, simply because she loves to be with them.
Amaia has a gift with rescue dogs and with dogs who are easily misunderstood, She is patient and gentle, allowing the dog to come to her in their own time. Her approach allows her to build deep bonds with the dogs in our care.
Amaia’s qualities cannot be taught, and this is one of the many reasons we are so lucky to have her as a part of our little team.

Jesus is kind and patient. Every dog loves Jesus; even dogs who are typically wary of men trust him right away.
With extensive experience in grooming and dog care, Jesus continues to spend his own time studying dogs, their behavior, and their care.
Jesus builds relationship with every dog who stays with us. On any given day at RF Dogs, you can find Jesus somewhere on the property with the entire pack of dogs following him wherever he goes.
