RF Dogs is a boutique family-owned dog training and care business located in North Miami, serving dog owners throughout Miami and the surrounding areas, including Brickell, Coconut Grove and nearby communities. With more than 40 years of experience in dog training, behavioral correction, rescue rehabilitation, daycare and boarding, we take an individualized approach to every dog in our care.

Our Miami facility is small and home-based, allowing a calm, structured environment where dogs receive consistent supervision and personalized attention throughout the day and night. Rather than placing large groups of dogs together with rotating staff, we take the time to understand each dog's personality, temperament, history and individual needs.

Our facility includes shaded outdoor turf play areas, four spacious pens for customized dog groupings, fresh water throughout the day and pools for dogs to cool off during warmer weather. Our air-conditioned kennel area provides a comfortable space for feeding and overnight boarding. Boarding dogs may also spend time in our home.

Dogs are grouped based on their personalities and individual needs rather than simply placed into one large group. This allows us to create a more balanced environment, provide closer supervision and help each dog feel comfortable and cared for during their stay.

We also offer complimentary weekday transportation to Brickell and Coconut Grove for daycare and boarding clients, with additional transportation options available by arrangement for boarding and other services.

Whether you are looking for professional dog training, daycare, boarding, rescue rehabilitation, service dog training or a personal protection dog, our Miami team works with you to determine the right approach for your dog and your goals.

Our North Miami Dog Care & Training Services

  • RF Dogs provides individualized dog training in Miami for puppies, adult dogs and dogs with complex behavioral needs. We offer private training sessions as well as board-and-train programs, with training plans developed around each dog's personality, background, breed and the goals of the owner.

Our training focuses on helping dogs develop the skills they need to live successfully in the real world. Depending on the dog, this may include obedience, leash manners, socialization, household behavior and addressing behavioral concerns such as reactivity, anxiety or aggression.

We believe training should extend beyond a session or facility. Our goal is to help owners understand their dogs and build the consistency and communication needed to continue making progress at home.

    Private Training

    Board & Train

  • RF Dogs offers structured dog daycare and overnight boarding in a small, home-based environment. Our Miami facility allows us to provide around-the-clock care while keeping the environment calm and intentionally low volume.

    Dog Daycare

Our daycare program is designed around structured socialization rather than an uncontrolled group environment. Dogs spend time in shaded outdoor turf play areas and are placed into carefully selected groups based on their personality, temperament and individual needs.

Daycare can also complement a dog's training program. The structured environment helps reinforce boundaries, social skills and calm behavior while giving dogs an opportunity to exercise and interact with other dogs.

We offer complimentary weekday transportation to Brickell and Coconut Grove, with additional transportation options available by arrangement.

    Dog Boarding

Boarding dogs are integrated into our daycare environment for supervised outdoor play throughout the day. For feeding and sleeping, dogs stay in an air-conditioned kennel area that is cleaned daily. Dogs staying with us for longer periods may also spend time in our home as part of our family environment.

Our goal is to provide dogs with consistency, structure and personal attention while their owners are away.

  • Rescue and rehabilitation have become an important part of what we do at RF Dogs. We work with rescue dogs who may need additional time, structure and training before they are ready to transition into a permanent home.

Every rescue dog is different. Dogs coming from shelters, the street, transport or other stressful environments may need time to decompress before they are ready to adjust to a new family and routine. Our approach is centered on understanding the individual dog rather than expecting every rescue to follow the same process.

    The Let-Down Program

Our Let-Down Program is a reduced-rate training stay designed for recently rescued or adopted dogs transitioning from a stressful environment into a permanent home.

During the program, dogs receive a structured period to decompress while we begin establishing important foundations such as routine, rest, trust, appropriate socialization, crate training, leash skills and basic household expectations.

We then work with the new family to help them understand their dog's needs and continue the structure at home.

    Rescue Training

We also offer special training rates for families who have recently adopted a dog through a recognized rescue or shelter. Our goal is to provide support during the early stages of adoption when professional guidance can help create a successful transition.

RF Dogs also works with rescue organizations and takes in dogs in need when appropriate. When we place a rescue dog, we focus on finding a home that is a good match for the dog's temperament, personality and needs. Our commitment does not end at adoption. We remain a resource for the family, and dogs adopted through RF Dogs can always return to us if circumstances change.

Please inquire for pricing and dogs available for adoption.

  • RF Dogs offers service dog training for dogs supporting owners with anxiety. We work with registered psychologists as part of the process to help ensure that each dog develops the appropriate behavioral skills and is prepared to meet applicable service dog requirements.

Service dog training is individualized because every dog and handler relationship is different. We focus on developing reliable behavior, clear communication and the skills needed for the dog's intended role.

If you are considering service dog training, contact us to discuss your dog, your needs and whether our program is appropriate.

    Please inquire for pricing.

  • RF Dogs works privately with individuals and families seeking a personal protection dog. We believe a protection dog should first and foremost be an exceptional dog to live with.

The right protection dog requires more than protection training. Stable temperament, confidence, intelligence, obedience and the ability to function comfortably in everyday environments are all important considerations.

    Sourcing & Selection

We source and evaluate prospective protection dogs individually. We consider temperament, genetics, environmental stability, sociability, trainability and working ability, while also considering the home and lifestyle where the dog will live.

Your household, experience with dogs, children or other animals, living environment and expectations all help determine what type of dog may be appropriate.

Our goal is to find the right dog for the individual or family rather than simply selecting the most intimidating or intense dog.

    Training & Family Integration

Protection dogs are developed with an emphasis on control, confidence, stability and strong foundational obedience. Dogs should be able to function comfortably in the home and in everyday environments before more specialized protection work is introduced.

Once a dog is selected, we also help the client develop a relationship with the dog and understand how to handle and communicate with them confidently. This includes guidance around routines, commands, boundaries and ongoing maintenance.

Protection dog placement is a personalized process, and each program is developed around the individual dog and client.

  • "RF dogs has been with our precious beagle since she was 8 weeks old. She is turning 7 in a few months and we couldn’t have asked for a better second home for her when we are away on trips. Ricardo has loving her trained her and continues to be the best dog whisperer we’ve encountered. Highly recommend, he is an honest person, a gentleman and a true dog lover."

He loves my dogs like they are his own. If you’re lookin for someone dependable and long term, look no further than RF dogs."

  • "Ricardo and his team are beyond amazing. I run a small nonprofit animal rescue and I trust them with all the animals I take in. I board them, they get training and most importantly love. And whenever I leave town, my personal pets also stay there. Couldn’t ask for a better place and trainer!"

    Isabella P.

  • "Ricardo is a true dog whisperer, and master of his craft. I’ve been taking my dog to him for over 3 years now, since he was a tiny little puppy and I can’t say enough about great of an experience it’s been. My guy has so much fun, is safe and well cared for, and gets genuinely super excited whenever we get there. For a couple of hours, or for a week while I’m out of town, Ricardo and the team take the best care of him and the whole crew of dogs. I especially like that Ricardo is very thoughtful about only letting friendly dogs come stay over, they all get to know each other and run and play and be crazy without me having to worry about fighting or danger. So grateful for Ricardo and his team."

    Brian S.

  • "Ricardo and his staff are amazing. They pick up my overly excited rambunctious dog twice a week and keep him actively entertained and socialized at day care. He comes home a more manageable relaxed dog and he loves it!"

    Sara E.

  • "RF dogs is truly an extension of my family. They love and care for my Howie and Alice as their own. As we all know each dog has their individual special quirks, personalities and needs that RF Dogs pays close, detailed attention to. They understand that my Howie and Alice are my joys and take care of them as such. I am grateful for RF Dogs!"

    Kenichi K.

  • "RF Dogs has truly been such a blessing for us. I started working with Ricardo when my golden retriever puppy was very rambunctious, and from the very beginning, he was so patient, kind, and understanding. He really has a special way with dogs. Murphy has grown into such a well-behaved, happy dog, and he absolutely loves going to daycare/camp. The second he sees the van, he sprints to it. It makes me so happy knowing how excited he is to be there. After having a bad experience with another daycare, I was really nervous to trust anyone again, but Ricardo and his team completely changed that for me. They care so deeply about every dog and truly treat them like their own. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing Murphy is in such loving, capable hands. I’m incredibly grateful for everything they do."

    Meghan B.

  • "Ricardo and the team are so accommodating and go above and beyond to help! I’ve been taking my crazy husky to them for years and they never let me down, from last minute requirements, to help with giving medications. They also have been very considerate with my dogs ‘mood swings’ and ensure that the environment is safe for everyone. I never worry when I leave my dog there and, most importantly, he is always so excited and happy to go!"
